Our Curriculum
The first seven years of life are recognized to be a special time in the development of a child, so the focus on imitative and imaginative play develops the power of creative thinking, preparing children for later learning. It is in these years that children develop problem-solving and social skills. With a healthy physical development, an active imagination, and a true love for the world, children are ready for the challenges of the years to come.
Expression, Reflection &Â Rhythm
Young children respond to rhythm as a natural part of the world. We build a strong rhythmic element into our program. Our days are filled with play, work, circle time, nursery rhythms, songs and games.
Outdoor Play
We try to get outside most mornings and afternoons; which includes playing, nature walks, exploring and gardening.
Seasonal Activities
Incorporating activities based on the seasons help to enhance a child's feel for the cycles of nature. Gathering nuts and leaves and planting bulbs connect our children with the beauty of our earth.
Additional Activities
The children have a great time engaging in various exercise activities, such as Yoga, Simon Says, Musical Chairs, and Hot Potato.
Our curriculum is designed to enhance your child's curiosity to learn. We teach music and art to engage both the left and right sides of the brain, helping to create a well-rounded child. Believers follows the New Jersey Core Curriculum and HighScope Standards and is inspired by the Waldorf philosophy. We are proud to take on the most advanced learning systems to better educate your child in a stress-free environment.
Infants
As parents, we know how hard it is to leave your precious little one at daycare! We can empathize and assure you that we take our job very seriously in the care we provide each and every day. Babies are full of wonder and curiosity, so at Believers, we encourage their yearning for exploration. Our staff works diligently to enrich their learning with guidance and modeling of our behavior. Our time with your infant is spent cuddling, loving, and interacting, while also engaging in both fine and gross motor skills. As with respect to each family’s style of parenting, Believers provides daily reports, either verbal or written, about your child’s meals, diapering, and rest time.
Toddlers
Independence is a dominant part of being a toddler! At Believers, we understand that each child is an individual going at the pace that is right for them. Plenty of time is spent interacting with each other to gain confidence as they begin their journey as little people. To develop their motor skills, exercise is also a part of our daily routine. We sing, dance, laugh, and have puppet shows to stimulate their active imaginations! With a healthy physical development, an active imagination, and a true love for the world, children are ready for the years to come.
Preschool
Our preschool program is inspired by the Waldorf approach to learning. The first seven years of life are recognized to be a special time in the development of a child, so the focus on imitative and imaginative play develops the power of creative thinking, preparing children for later learning. In conjunction with our nature-based outdoor learning, we use the HighScope Learning Curriculum to follow the New Jersey Core Standards. We teach music and art to engage both the left and right sides of the brain. Our days are filled with play, circle time, school work, songs, and games.
